Game has a very interesting universe, lots of potential here. Loving the possibilities of game/tv adaptations in the future if this does well.

Always loved the idea of seeing the MGS universe on screen in some form of media.. maybe one day.

The game director being involved is the only part of this that gives me hope.

This. HBO doesn't take on big projects like this and have them fail.

what currently holds the title for "Best live action adaptation of a video game"? Resident Evil? Was there any one that hasn't been complete shit?

If TLoU is good, it could usher in a whole new area where these types of adaptations will gain some legitimacy.

Afaik this will be the first time someone actually related to the game will be working on the project.

Edit: Also Lara Croft has been reasonably successful

Probably the Witcher now, at least rating wise. Maybe Sonic for movies now? It wasn't god awful, but it wasn't good either lol.

I've said it many times before, but I fully believe games are usually too complicated to be accurately covered in a 1.5-2.5 hour movie. There are endless possibilities when it comes to television, especially with a budget like HBO.
