D4 is not a next gen ARPG made by ARPG devs, not a game that will sell because it's a new and unique experience. It will lean heavily on the fact that it's a pre-sold franchise and a marketing campain by a big publisher.

The sad thing is that sheep like you will line up to buy it and play with their wallet on their desk to pay for the stream of MTX they're going to throw at you.

You don't even understand that the structure behind these companies is stock market / shareholders. Which means making money is not enough, it requires continuous growth . This means that the business model of D2 was good at the time, nothing wrong with it. To be able to grow more, the publicly traded companies resorted to all kind of tricks from diluting the genre to widen the audience all the way to free to play with micro transactions.
Companies these days hire psychiatrists to help work out how to best hook players and squeeze the most money out of them. And even if they make billions it's never enough because the stock market demands continuous growth.
