Someone said infinity is best for cold sorc but it appears to have -enemy light resist instead of cold..

Please let me know what the wisest weapon choice would be.. I already own the botd eth war Pike..

Doesnt the -cold resistance only affect the mercs cold dmg? If it's not an aura, it cant affect your damage.

Any -res on gear only works on user themselves. Infinity hardly breaks any cold immunes in hell so Ebotd. Beef up merc and let him take care of immunes

Just rune insight with treachery and andys with 15/25+ fr jewel in it

No. Iirc, you can only break mobs that get their immunity via champion mods, and that's so rare it's not worth considering. Infinity is throwing money in the trash for a cold sorc.
You should use an ethereal Reaper's Toll - Ber'd or Shael'd (depending on what attack speed breakpoints your merc can reach with the helm/jewel, I can't remember them atm)
