got my first 4k tv yesterday. the samsung 50 inch ru7100. like most tvs they have preset picture settings but thats not a proper calibration. i feel like iv calibrated everything best i can but i am very ocd about this stuff and want the picture to be as good as it can. I dont want to pay 300$ to have someone professionally do it as i feel it would be a waste of money on an entry lvl 4k tv. i do know there are calibration discs you can purchase which is almost as good as having it professionally done. I am not to sure which one to get alot say the Disney WOW: World of Wonder is really good but there is also a Spears and Munsil disc. if anyone has any knowledge of this it wiould be great.

hey :) im using dynamic range in the daytime. apparently i can only adjust the basic color settings and not the color spacing and white balance. picture is really good still. the movie setting is the one thats bugging me. i spent about 30 min programming all of it yesterday then when i switched back and forth between some other settings just experimenting all the color spacing/white balance values were erased. but even then i still feel it wasnt the best. i followed this persons https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KiDviQ36eE4 video. however i dont think it was accurate for my tv even tho it is the same model.

edit: i followed all the values from link you posted and thats what was wiped out lol

Some of the very first things I read is the brightness (NITS) on this particular model isn’t very bright, which usually is a downer for HDR Displays, it also has no local dimming, it’s and edge lit panel, so your may not be able to get the settings exactly how you may expect them, if read this review for better details.

Seems like a very good TV for the price though.

Can you restore movie mode to its default values without completely wiping out your other changes so you can start adjusting it from scratch?

Best of luck, you should list the values you have in here so I can go over them for you, including any on/off settings. :)

Pictures work as well to make it easier.
