They are most definitely not the same. I think you drifted of main conversation/point with caveman.
The obesity argument aside, biologically, there is little different between what we are now and what hunter-gathers were. Behaviorally, very different, biologically, not so much (take away our record keeping/technology and we would be sent back to the drawing board - see: the dark ages).
Back to the point - what determines the traits that individuals find attractive is very complex. There are fertility/health underpinnings, but our environment and culture impacts it significantly, as do hormones and personalities. It would be like trying to quantify why some people are attracted to women with certain hair colors. There are just too many factors at play to pin it down to a single standard answer.
