Current Setup:
Ryzen 5 2600X
ASUS B-450F Gaming MOBO
Corsair 16GB (2x 8GB) 2400mhz RAM (upgrading to 3200)
XFX RAW II 5700XT GPU


Basically i'm looking at getting a 27 or 32" 1440P/144HZ Monitor in two weeks time.
The games i'm usually playing are COD:MW / FF14 / Path of Exile.

I know even 2080ti's can't handle 1440 @ 144hz in most AAA titles.
Basically, is it worth getting 1440 @ 144hz monitor, or should I just shoot for a 1440/60?

yes you might have to turn down setting on some

but max settings suck anyways, aa is very subjective(and variants) for visuals over fps

yes, but your specs would struggle to run over ~100

Settings matter

Any triple A games will need a 2070super at minimum to push 100+ fps at 1440p

Then again you have games like Odyssey and RDR2 that run like shit on everything.

/E You can justify a 120hz monitor if you really want some options

Meh, after a few adjustments to unneeded settings, i'm getting around 115 avg in MW and 130 in FF14

Happy I made the upgrade

5700XT is pretty close to 2070S performance wise.
Wasn't worth the extra 100$ to me for maybe a 6% bump in some games.
