I got this new workout routine with my PT and on leg days it includes hip thrusts

At first i was like nah...i am not doing that girly shit, like i never even seen a guy do that at the gym but only chicks

My PT convinced me to do it (As i have requested some lower back exercises for my new routine, due to being tall and having a desk job i need that shit)

At first it felt fucking awkward as fuck, he suggested to move to a smith machine for it, which felt much comfortable than doing on the bench in the middle of the gym lol plus it just felt better over all

After some sets my lover back was pumped af! I am deffo not skipping this


Wander if any of you dudes do this exercise and if you feel awkward doing it ?

It's a great movement and far too many people (me included) forget to add it into workouts.

I give bridges to every single one of my patients that I see with back pain or lower extremity dysfunction.

It's one of the main movements I do during my leg days. Glute strengthening is by far one of the most important things you can do for back and leg pain.

I personally do either unilateral bridges with kbs on my hip or go to the prone leg curl (hamstring machine) and sit on the ground and use that bar for a bridge with weight plates stacked on top of it.

Tried it once. Made sure nobody else was in the gym at the time.
Lol. Since, it also kind of looks like you're just fucking with a barbell on your lap.

Had some issues with the bench sliding all over the place, so I just kind of looked like an idiot.

I say keep at it. I've heard that it's a great exercise numerous times.

try doing it on the bench press benches, there secure. and who give a fuck its a solid exercise. fuck if people lookin at u, u there to make juicy gains

Hip thrust will give you that strength needed for deadlifts and squats.

Oh really? That's awesome, I really suck at squads and deadlifts

I did leg day today and on my routine hip thurts 2nd exercise after squads, I could bearly do much else after my lover back was pumped af and pulling but in a nice way not like an injury or anything

Yeah bench press bench is the best, tried on a plastic one it sucks

They're good for glute hypertrophy, but don't have much carry-over to strength in my experience.
If the purpose is for rehab, I'd do reverse hypers and band work over these any day.
