Important distinction that fluoroquinolones are not related to hydroxychloroquine, for others. And yeah these can definitely make someone very loopy, especially elderly. Problem is so many patients have been treated with abcdefg antibiotic so quinolones are one of few remaining effective classes for many patients. Cefepime is probably the biggest culprits for delirium
I think hospital delirium in elderly is completely real though and takes no time at all to begin. It is amazing what being out of your normal environment for just a few days can do at that age
