I moved from Maine to Indiana, kind of sucks at first since you don't know anyone, and depending on where you work it may be difficult to make friends your age...Overall I would say it is a good experience though. I meet soo many people who have never experienced anything other than their home city/state....And being willing to hop locations/jobs is pretty important if you want to move upwards on the pay scale/your career.
Yeah that's kind of what I get too, in regards to it sucking at first, though I've also already moved 4 hours away within my own state to a new location. However, this would obviously be different as it would be much further, 4 hours is always a possible commute back.
I think part of me has always thought it has to be a permanent decision which made me place so much emphasis on family, friendships, etc. but I'm also kind of realizing that's not all true. It might be key to move to get to some of these higher positions, gain more experience, new responsibilities, and later on down the road, I could always decide to come back.

I never have, and am a father of 4, but if it made sense I absolutely would. If FCA decided I needed to work in a Chicago plant instead of where I am now I’d go.
Yeah definitely. I can see how that would possibly limit some of your decisions, or at least have to ponder at them for a bit longer. I have no kids, and honestly at this point, I feel like I've never been more single than I am right now. Lol.
