The fact that British taxpayers still pay millions of dollars/pounds a year to maintain a royal family's housing, travel, and expenses is ridiculous. I get that it's fun and interesting to keep up with, but I'm glad we don't have this in America.

It's history though. Think about how much we spend on the Capitol, the President, etc. I agree that it's really foreign since we were founded in a completely different era.
