Correct me if I'm wrong as I wasn't really watching baseball at the time, but from what I've read Jeter wouldn't have won all those gold gloves if he was playing today. He had a safe glove at short and wasn't making many errors, but according to new advanced stats that were not available back then, he wasn't really all that good defensively as he didn't have the best range.
