So I know of the orb/firewall sorc build and I was thinking the same 40 points for max orb and synergy you could do 20 blizz + 20 glacial spike for 1.3k blizz compared to 387 orb

Iso opinion on this for solo mfer build. Pros to orb is that it clears mobs easier compared to blizz?

FO + FW build is only effective for rushes
pure blizz is the best for mf

FO = full orb?

wouldnt dual ele help kill unique mobs that are cold immune or is it not worth it to hunt down those extra unique mobs for mf?

well if i think of mf, then its probably only killing a quest bugged andy and meph at hell for me
in my opinion, killing random bosspacks are only good to gain exp

I was thinking about kill smaller act bosses as well not just main ones and sometimes they’re immune. Maybe I can still try just with no mf I’m sure fares will still drop. Not sure how much more often compared to with mf since higher mf = higher sets/uniques

Most sorc MFers in classic dont run chaos sanctuary.

So they concentrate on one element and farm bosses that can be killed with it (usually Andariel + Mef; sometimes Duriel too).

Andariel can be glitched, same for Duriel (although Im not sure if Duriel is worth to farm if you play legit); Mefisto is best to farm with open quest, in games made with other char.

Generally you probably want higher Ilvl drops, unless you want SOJs.

Technically you can make CS with a two element sorc, but it is slow (and every now and then De Seis will be immune for 2 elements, so your hope is using static + stabbing with shard, what barely works in hell difficulty) - IMHO not worth it, but your mileage may vary.


And as for your question: most players either go full Blizzard, or Full orb. There were some that went fireball (or Meteor), but that was rare (Andariel is vulterable to fire).
When it comes to damage Bizzard > Orb > Fire sorc (and fire sorc is useless in Chaos sanctuary).
But the difference is the rest, many players like Frozen Orb, since you can have high (or even maxed) teleport, so less mana pots used.
I think Blizzard or Orb is a matter of preference, but robots do better with Blizzard.

weird you say that i almost never see " robots " with blizz most of the time the bots are using orb
i think you are asking this question because of the conversation we had maybe this information will help

this is how it would take place... to compare strengths im going to put you in a weird position for comparision purposesssesesesss

if you were in an 8 player game, alone in chaos trying to clear it by urself
and you went over to the fector seal with a full orb
you would prolly have to orb that fector 20-30 times while running acrossed the map for your life

maybe you could orb with a level 1 gspike to try to crowed control it and not run so far acrossed map
but i wouldn't be surprised if it chased you back to star as you fight for your life not doing very much damage

a low level 1300 blizzard with level 1 gspike crowed control would kill that same mob in less then 30 seconds(less then 8 blizzards ) with out pushing you past the seal
