Thinking of getting back into it but last time I played it felt extremely dead a few years back? Did player base grow or lessen over the years?

Depends how and what you play. Start3d this ladder. Played untill the 12th and decided.. jesus only botgames. Boring af. Started Single Player because at least that was challegng. Imo, dead as ever. Did HC EU ladder.

but this ladder for the first time of d2 history there ppl using "bots" so ofc some ppl are mad about it

with time they will probably get used to it but i bet even in 20 years of botting there will be some ppl to cry about it in a subforum like this one
