The problem i have with all these tvt rule discussions is this line right here. This has worked for 10 years+ without any problems what so ever, and that was back when it was really active. How often do we have tvts nowadays? And is it really neccessary to implement new rules for those rare occations when we have pub tvts instead of just going with common sense and mixing things up when neccessary like we have always done?
There will never be a tvt tour ever again, it didn't even work when it was active so a tvt rule bible is imo not at all needed. It will just discourage new people to come in and try and have fun.
And tbh i won't ever change my character to fit tvt rules since all my chars are built for 1v1, it's just not worth the time for the amount of tvts that will be played.
Just remove cthons on bow and limit paladin to 1 might or something since that will need to be applied to 1v1 rules as well to balance. The rest, like 40 lrep on fissure, is just something that doesn't need a rule. If some1 wants to try it in a pub tvt 99% of the players won't mind.
And any talk about hybrids to balance chars or level some chars to 24 or w/e is on the same level of bonerkiller as when they allowed some chars to lvl to 59 in mld, a whole new level of horrible ideas. Just scrap that idea and play with the mid - high tier chars that already exist, and the lower tier ones still have a place in pub tvts without any rule changes.
My final oppinion on it.
Not very optimistic but I kind of agree.
Every tour ever organized in EU ended with huge rule set discussion, mass protection for amazon and finally people becoming inactive(hard to organize duels). Everyone becoming too serious about it.
Pubs are pubs, you can agree on fly - it is cool. If you disagree then rejoin for mirror duel and humiliate your opponent
I think playing pubs is more healthy for the scene, some people have 1 char (mostly paladin or amazon) and messing their builds (that is their view) may only upset them
Hypothesis:
When you start discussing rule-set people spend energy on protecting their view on forum rather than trying rules in-game
I suggest to just try different rule-set with different people ingame and have fun
