Retail kinda sucks for traditional "farming". The only thing you can do is farm pets/transmogs/prof stuff in old content. They also take a long time to sell. Farming old raids/dungeons is decent I guess.
In terms of BFA content, I would say spare parts or tidespray farm can get you some decent money. As others said, carry services as well.
Without any AH flipping or prof crafting, I would say working a minimum wage job and buying tokens is probably the better than any kind of farming.
Agreed 100% on working irl and buying gold. If you cant make money playing the AH it's honestly better to spend like 10$ irl and go buy 70k gold..that's what I did. I'd buy 100k a week and its be more than enough to supply me.with everything I need and more..and now I just play the Aah because I have over 10m
