so I heard during the d4 announcement they mentioned a remaster of d2? Is that true? just what I was told.

Diablo 2 remaster will most likely never come, Blizzard has already said it will be almost an impossible task.

if they stopped developed d4 and focused on making d2 remaster then they could easily do it

Probably, they should’ve scrapped Diablo Immortal and spent their time on a remaster instead. We all know blizzard is cash hungry though, and D4 will bring them more money than a D2 remaster.

I heard the project was initially a D2 remaster. Then they changed their minds and went with D4.
