When downloading the Media Creation Tool, do both options below allow for a clean install?

"Upgrade this PC now"
or
"Create installation media (USB flash drive, DVD, or ISO file) for another PC"

I read a lot of people online choosing the USB option, however can "Upgrade this PC now" do the same thing? Main reason is I don't own a flash drive above 4GB, so I would have to buy one one before doing this... so if Upgrade this PC now is an equal option, I would like to do that.

re-evaluate your life if 5$ usb drive is that much of a concern.
You can upgrade but your taking a performance hit and possible issues down the road.
