I'm not sure if I understand your question. Are you asking if I'm a proponent of it or if it exists?

I would assume that the French use the same trick as German authorities and count every spelling variation separately to mask how many Mohammads there already are.
'Mohammad', 'Muhammad', 'Muhammed', 'Mohammed', etc.
