Both fresh off big games, so there is no recent good form bias

Both on big contracts who play a similar type of position, SG/SF wings

Who would you rather on your team?

Jaylen Brown, Harris is nice but he’s older. Brown is about as good as him, maybe better, and is bound to improve over the next few seasons

Not to toot my horn, but definitely a better defender, younger as you said, and Brown has been tasked with guarding 4's a lot more this season with great success.

I still think Harris is a great player don't get me wrong, but the 76ers shouldn't have ever let someone like Reddick go. I would've kept Butler over Harris tbh...

I think if they kept both Reddick and Horford, it would've been better, but the 76ers ended up getting older and slower. But at what cost?

The Sixers apparently tried to keep both Harris and Butler, but Jimmy wanted to go to Miami. Then again, i've also heard reports that the Sixers didn't offer a full 5 year contract, which contradicts other reports that they did. Either way, Harris was always in the plans and they wanted to retain him regardless.

With that said, the Sixers got Miami's best player in Josh Richardson out of the deal for Butler instead of just letting him walk, which was a major haul especially considering Richardson is on one of the best bargain contracts in the league for two years at the age of 25. Richardson is probably my favorite player on the team at this point, and he's as good as advertised and has improved every season in the NBA (including this season where he's as good as he has ever been on both sides of the ball).

I'll take Richardson over Redick any day of the week, without a doubt. Richardson is giving us good shooting (39% from 3pt, 46% FG overall) and elite defense. He's not Redick in the sense that he can bomb threes like a maniac on the run, but his shooting is pretty good and he's a FAR superior playmaker, ball handler and defender. The issue is that Richardson has been out the last four games, and without him the Sixers REALLY lack that playmaking half court offense more than they usually do.

edit: To stay on topic, I'll probably admit that Brown is a better bargain based on the fact that he's still so young and hasn't even tapped into his prime years yet. Tobias is nice, but he's not the defender that Brown is.
