Why shouldn't his MVP be in question?

Even if he didn't participate in the scheme, it's not like he didn't benefit from his teammates getting on base putting extra on the opposing pitcher, working their pitch count up, etc.

His stats even with all that are not even better than Judge's. People just decided that year that BA was important for some reason while Judge crushed him in every other category.

The notion that they didn't need to do it is silly. Their series with the Yankees went 7 games and most of the games were decided by 1 or 2 runs. They may be good without it, but are they world champions good, we'll never know.

no, i fully understand it and the fact that more teams than just houston/boston/NY/LA all do it; houston was just more belligerent with it and got caught

you have a 6 month season where it's all but even, slightly skewed to the road splits, but then suddenly for 2 weeks in octorber it all clicks?
