this is going to be a 2 part thread.

this first section will be aimed at gathering what people from both sides believe to be major policy topics and/or issues that a presidential candidate should run on.
i.e. healthcare, not versions of healthcare, just the general topic "healthcare". also i.e. border relations- not border security or lack there of.
(everything is welcome, but i'm trying to keep the topics generally unbiased by nature)

i'll list a rough draft of a "policy list" later in this thread that everyone can verify or voice concern with.

part 2 is where we will voice our stances on the topic issues. i plan to make this an annual thread where we can reflect on our past and give us a chance to update our thoughts on topics.
it would be encouraged to continue using the part 2 thread through-out the year "if" you'd like to update your opinions on anything.

please participate, this will give everyone a chance to reflect on what they actually do believe. (perhaps over a range of topics they may never have before)

How many things are you looking for? I have an extremely long list of things that I'd consider personally "major".

I look at who will do the most to improve the country for the bottom 40%, anyone above that mark is already doing fine.

there is no limit. a lot of subjects can be linked through broader terms, so i'll try to make the final list a bit general in terminology that still covers everything.

everyone doesn't need to think of general terms. i'll try generalizing topics out of what is offered to this thread at the end of next weekend. (earlier if the thread stops moving)

This.

I also look at immigration policy, but mainly it's finding a candidate that will push the economy forward.

Dems typically lack in both these areas. Hence, we get Orange man.

this is completely fine, i am not forcing anyone to step outside of their norm.
these threads are largely for personal growth, but everyone is welcome to use this template with me.

i'll state that i do not have a current solid position on a lot of things. there's a lot i want to learn to be able to confidently make these decisions.
i imagine my first "part 2" post, will be lacking answers for some topics. but i hope to fill in the blanks through-out the year.
