Get decent iron golem and amp/decrep for your first kill. Just do it in moor or cold plains.
The issue with revives is kinda unavoidable unfortunately unless you go xpac and get enigma. Lol
Skeles should do fine though with mastery and raise maxed. Just make sure you put some points into sum res too
Skeletons disappear when you switch acts in classic.
What they write above about golems is nonsense.
Classic summoner is: 20 skeletons + 20 mastery, 1 skeleton mages, 1 clay golem, 1 golem mastery, 1 summons, 1 amplify damage, 1+ corpse explosion.
Then you put res points into Bone spear - since Bone spear is the skill you use to get first few kills.
Once you are comfortable with your Bone spear (which you probably arent), 1 bone armor, 1 bone prison, 1 wall - you either add to Bone Spear synergies, then Corpse Explosion and then either mages/summons.
But you will probably be unhappy with Bone spear damage so you put a ton of points there.
This is NOT LOD, so you dont have a merc that gives you first kills. What they wrote about golems above is nonsense, golems cant kill anything after normal mode, they do like 50 dmg on average.
You also dont have act 5 with red portal, where some bodies lie around. Your skeletons dont move acts.
That makes necromancer quite weak. I mean there are some dudes who like the chilled out playstyle, but sadly in classic it is more of a "fight for first body". And without mercenary + his auras the damage is bad in classic hell difficulty.
You get around +9 skills on your necro, that is 1+9 = 10 summons.
Probably you can get a bit less + skills if you want better resists, especially if you try to get Decripify from your wand.
The problem is getting first kills, if you play alone (which sadly is the current state of classic) you need bone spear.
Alternative is to load 2 chars and get first bodies with that other char.
