Room temp would majorly affect this, like others have previously stated.

Had this exact issue and for the life of me couldn't figure it out. We moved houses and I had it in a more open, cooler room and it never happened again.

My room isn’t too hot, I’d say somewhere around 20 degrees? My window is open 24/7
Also it’s winter right now and we got - degrees so the room temp shouldn’t matter too much right now

Did you get the RX 590?

/e If so... that card does run hot. 80C is it's load temp.

Refer to my post i had same problem and got it down 15 degree
Its running 65-70 under load now

Then you should probably do what Subban2 said... undervolt or underclock the vid card. Try underclocking first.

I believe the free program MSI Afterburner can do it.

Actually undervolting is done first, why take away the cards performance before its needed.

I will try it now. I just played 1 hour fortnite, did set 160fps as max frames and hoped it wouldnt get too hot. voila, it did reach 80°C.
