I want to buy a new PC soon. It needs to be able to run Autodesk Revit smoothly. It is recommended that I have the highest affordable CPU speed.

Can I get such a PC for about $2000? Or would that cost more? What brands are the best?

I have never built one from scratch before, but I understand I can save a lot of money if I built one from parts that I can buy from newegg. Is it easy to build a PC?

it's relatively easy, yes. you just have to do a lot of research before you start buying parts. you have to make sure everything is compatible.

If autodesk revit is the only thing you're going to be running, you don't need to spend $2000.

You should post this in the Computer Building Discussion sub-forum where I'm sure plenty of people would be more than happy to come up with a build for you :)

Thanks!

I would like to be able to run modern games as well, if I choose to. :) I would like my PC to last a long time.
