I know nothing about the Nintendo Switch other than some appealing games they have. But I decided to put all my PC gaming on hold due to a recent left leg injury. I had just won a 50-inch smart TV from a casino raffle in Louisiana. It's still in the box because I don't want to set it up until I get my Switch. How do I connect the Switch to the TV? What hardware do I need for that?

I'm not wanting to play on the TV all the time. I'd still like to lay back and rest, and play it in handheld mode also.
Honestly, the last time I played console was the original XBOX back in 2003 and 2004. It's literally been ages!

I basically need to know what the overall pricing will be for the full Nintendo Switch and the 'connect it to the TV' hardware? As far as the gaming I think Diablo 3 would be right my ally. Perhaps Torchlight II, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 and Pillars of Eternity. I'd prefer to play an action RPG if possible.

I'll likely order everything on Amazon pretty soon. I just need to figure out what I need. I'm a newbie to this stuff.

the switch comes with everything to hook up to the tv. the dock that the switch slides into has a hdmi cord and bingo bango. also a power plug. most people advise getting tempered glass screen protector.. mine had bubbles so I took it off. tempered glass looks amazing if u do it right and I almost did but didnt. I havent used one since and its still be fine though gotta be careful I suggest getting one.

I havent played d3 on it or any of those games atm usually just nintendo ones Im sure they run fine and will be great. prices are different for me im in Canada so not too sure. I suggest getting mario odessey though. but to break in ur console just get w/e u feel like

Thank you for the information. So it comes with everything I need to connect it to the TV. That's a huge help!
I may enjoy playing Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 a lot. It's an exclusive Switch game and I'm a huge Marvel fanatic.

But Diablo 3 would be a game I already know how to play. All I'd have to do is adjust to the Nintendo Switch controls.
Torchlight II and Pillars of Eternity look like games I'd also like. If I had to pick one I may lean towards MUA3.

I'd prefer to play one game a lot (become a pro at it), and reach all the end-game content, before I move on to another game.

Somebody told me about Luigi's Mansion the other day. Hmm. I probably wouldn't be any good at it. Those games are hard for me!

There is three different switch systems on the market

Original switch (Black Friday deals has one bundled with Mario kart 8 for 299$ USA)

Newer switch (only difference is longer battery life then the original and doesn’t get as hot while playing in handheld mode) ($299 USA)

Switch lite (it’s portable system only, it can’t connect to a tv) ($199)

The original switch and newer switch both have a docking system that can connect to a hdtv

What about Torchlight II? Has anybody played it on the Switch yet?
It looks like a fun RPG and I'll receive a free pet Unicorn. It's intriguing!

Also how much is the Nintendo Online fee? I'll definitely need that as well.
I'll want to play some 4-player Coop action online if I buy Torchlight II.

You guys are probably right about Diablo 3. I already overplayed it on the PC. I need something new.

I thought about buying d3 on switch aswell when it was on sale.. but yea allready have it on pc and dont even play it, so why bother..

sure might be fun if u have friends coming over or someone to play with online, but for a single player i would rather play botw again

botw is kinda RPG i guess.. u pick up loot and fight mobs+bosses^^

iirc online fee is 3-4$ per month, got 1 year for free with twitch prime but i actually never used it, dont play online and dont play nes games

I bought torch light 2 on the switch
I have yet to find anyone online
I’m not sure if my connection is bad or that nobody plays it on the switch
I don’t think u can play coop on single player
Other then that I love torchlight 2
