Imho Diablo 4 is just a quick cash grab that smells of Activisions trap.
It's Diablo Immortal mobile game engine / game ported to PC in a rush, they are hoping people would not notice this. On top of this they provide 3 characters to play with, obviously planning to push out multiple DLCs to whore more money from the fans.

Personally I think my Diablo gaming times are over, Diablo 2 was the best Diablo game and most likely there will be no better. Diablo 3 looks nice, was shitty pipe run game. Most likely Diablo 4 has same ending.

they should keep the story going with multiple expansions... much like WoW...

in a Non-Linear, Open Shared World game, it just makes more sense to make use of the size of the game, keep it balanced and going and keep adding content

Same engine from mobile? No. And D4 will be all way different games - compared to D3.
As for D2, i really like it, but I like some aspects of Diablo 1 more.

didnt they say they were going to show more chars before launch and that the 3 shown were just the ones completed?
