I want a modernized PC that can play the newest games in the highest settings at 100 fps
I also play VR a bit so I would like to have high frames for that
And I say 100 FPS because some games I play are frame dependent fighting games that require as many frames as possible to hit accurate timing
Also, I might need a little extra oomph just in case I wanted to get into streaming or something intensive in the future

My question is this: with all that in mind did I go overboard? I mean like do I really need an I9 with hyper threading? Or will that just be wasted power that I’ll never touch up on. I was thinking about getting the asus maximus as well but after looking at it, it has a bunch of stuff that I would never use so it’s like.. instead of spending that money for an OP mobo with features that I’ll never touch, I could put that money toward getting a nicer GPU or a bigger SSD or something. So I’m asking if there’s anything that’s extremely overkill in this build

Edit: btw I know the ryzen cpus are superior to intel right now, but I’m an Intel fanboi so I would rather stick to what I’m used to

/e Which vid card is necessary depends mostly on what monitors you have. (resolution, refresh rate, etc.)

It better its all top tier shit, way over kill imo for d3
also laughing hard at retail windows.
He has no idea how d3 runs either.

your builds ok, there's things i'd change.
i9 > amd
hyper fan > be queit rock pro
a compliant mobo
3600, cas 16 (16gb) ram
drop the 250gb ssd
lower tier psu

otherwise its fine

- I know amd is a better bang for buck right now but I’m so used to intel cpus and mobos that I don’t wanna change lol
-Why not the hyper 212? Is the one you’re talking about superior?
- What Is the difference between ddr4 3200 and ddr4 3600?
-I chose that low gb ssd because I would install my OS onto it and that’s all

The Corsair cooler keeps things... cooler.
RAM speed... they're really pretty similar. I picked ones with very low timings...aka, faster.
I just switched to the 970 SSD coz it's like 5x faster. If you're gonna get a storage SSD, then that one can be a regular SSD, like the 860

As for the vid card, I picked the fastest one.

/e The build I made you is for this...

I don't see where D3 fits into those requirements. :)
