Depends on which operating system I’m using honestly.
If I’m running redhat (what I usually run) I enjoy the baseline systemd init system.

If I’m running windows i honestly haven’t changed it from windowsnt. (Not sure if you can even change it)

Honestly haven’t touched much on osx. What’s the default init sys on them?
I’d assume I’d like systemd since it’s Linux based and it’s what I know.

Personally I feel like it has a lot to do with what you’re trying to accomplish.

I haven’t personally tried sysvinit so I don’t have an opinion on it. I’ll have to read more about it and see if it’s worth trying out.

Do you feel like this discussion would be appreciated more in a different section? There’s no dedicated software section. Could go to general chat if you feel like it’s more appropriate. Just don’t think as many people would appreciate it there.

Currently reading up on it. How does that work though? An init system that doesn’t replace the default and works with it? Is it just the added support that makes it viable or what?

systemd is far better than bunch of completely unrelated to each other, barely functioning .sh scripts. But tbh upstart was my favorite until they killed it in favour of systemd, meh.

DSL > trying to make a framework for sh scripts and still fail.
