I feel like its not a defect, just simply poorer quality.

I usually get them at Target on Black Friday, for $40. I've been doing it for years. I have gold, bronze, silver, pink a couple different camos, a clear one a cool teal and purple, a green and gold that reminds me of Link from Zelda ironically, been using that a lot lately...I have black, white...I have a few less PS3 dual shocks.

The only problem I have is some drifting on my clear dual shock. I just don't see a difference between them bought new at any vendor because a PlayStation product is manufactured by PlayStation not the vendor. Claiming a Walmart is different from a Target or Game Stop one seems superstitious.

https://www.8bitdo.com/ makes cool controllers, and make things like dongles you can plug into your Nintendo Switch and use a Dual Shock 4 :).

I think in store purchases it will be from the Sony manufacturer, Idk how accurate it is but i was looking at the reviews from amazon and alot of them were reporting fake/ knock off controllers going around.
Most of the time i buy my shit online. Except controllers ;)

Buy at best buy and get the 2 year warranty. I do this with my Xbox elite and just return it before the warranty is up and get another brand new one no questions asked.

Best buys warranty is legit. I'm not sure how much it will be on a ps controller because it's a % of the price on the product. But if you ever have any issues you just go back to best buy and they have you grab another controller to replace it and just buy warranty again and you set.

I would buy locally ebgame/ wal mart/ best buy.

Ps4 controllers are known to be garbage. If any problems bring it back, say its defective and get another one.
