adding cooldowns to skills is gonna force d2 players to think on how to go about doing something which they aren't used to doing

Cool downs lasting longer than a few seconds have no place in an arpg. Go play a MMO if you want cool downs.

10 seconds was a generalization. The point remains that cool downs shouldn't really exist - not more so than a few seconds.

Meteor, Blizzard, and FO had a short cool down period. It didn't slow down game play, which is the main concern.

I personally wouldn't mind if there were a few "ultimate" type abilities that had a slightly longer cool down. say 7 seconds, that couldn't be spammed. I'm not married to the idea, i just wouldn't be that mad about it.

I agree cooldowns is trash and it ruins the true diablo gameplay, also ruins pvp so really big concern imo

problem is d3 and d4 has a skill bar with 6 skills, so cooldowns is necessary or people will be spamming 6 skills all the time, which u cant do in d2 btw because u only have 2 active skills..

so the skill bar would have to go aswell but that would be bad for console, and they would have to redesign all the skills..

so d4 is allready doomed unless they do major changes that probably wont happen

To be honest D2 had cooldowns that just were a different mechanic mitigated by %fcr %fhr and %ias.
