FREE TRADE
but blizzard needs to control some aspect of the trades in order to weed out botters... hackers... sellers trying to get rich off blizzards intellectual property... etc.
one way they could remove and fight the mass spamming of websites who want to sell you shako for $10.00... would be to limit how many trades each player can complete per week...
a cooldown limit...
Blizzard can just implement a system where after a person makes 5 trades... they have to wait until next week before it resets... and then you can make 5 more trades again....
.
so lets say $10.00 per item as you suggest. or better yet, $2 an item. $2 x 5 trades per week = $10.00 x 52 weeks per year = $520 off of one account. im sure these sites selling people trash can easily afford to purchase multiple copies of d4.
Blizzard needs to understand WHY d2 is still thriving. D2 as a game was/is... ok. Thats what blizzard north made, an OK game. However, the players are the ones who made it an amazing game. Players created the economy and community of D2 and thats the aspect of the game that we all love. Players offered services (grushes, leveling, etc.) in exchange for items or fg. PVP games for those more competitive to test their skills with rules which were agreed upon by the players. Trading games and the eventual creation of JSP fueled the economy and helped streamline the acquisition of gear while keeping prices competitive.
My point is, Diablo 2 succeeded not because blizzard, but because it became what the players made of it. And what was the the root of the economy and community that we created???
