The wok i currently have is a piece of garbage imo and I am looking to upgrade most of my cooking is saute or ill use my wok as a lil deep fryer. I am not really sure on which one to get but this one seems pretty good and looking for opinions from the experts out there :)

its great, but not available anymore.
i dont remember what i paid, but it was less than either of those.


what dont you like about your current one?


the joyce chen looks like it has a coating, you dont want a coating on a wok. thats for western amateurs who cant handle taking proper care of a real wok.

the first one looks good, but pricey.

seems they just dont sell on amazon anymore. dunno if they ship to canada, but i imagine they would.

Ok thanks. My first one is a shitty non stick coating carbon steel. I cook on high heat and the pan doesnt hold up well during those temps. Things stick and are not supposed to lol.i may have to go with first one.

Yea that seems lik the first one i showed but way cheaper lol. So hard finding thebperfect wok lol.

yeah, the ones with a nonstick coating are for easterners who want to feel cool because theyre cooking in a wok, but dont actually know how to use one. id definitely go with a plain carbon steel wok, although that first one seems pricey to me. maybe because of the second handle. if you dont think you need that you can see if the wok shop will ship to canada, probably still cheaper than the first one.

Didn't click links because I'm on mobile. But for a wok just get steel. No coatings. Season it with soybean oil. Keep it away from water when not in use.

It doesn't have to be fancy but be mindful of size and shape. I don't see any advantage to hand hammered. Steel plate in a hydraulic press is fine.

flaxseed oil is the best for seasoning.
