Yeah, that's why I'm saying we need to develop and put more emphasis into trades. Right now, most people scoff at tech school alternatives to high school (and rightly so, a lot of them are shit). But they also typically have some of the worst funding. Develop the other avenues and give bad traditional students another opportunity to have a decent career. That means shifting funding.
People working minimum wage jobs aren't using 12th grade equivalent skills in English and math. If those people truly had 12th grade equivalent skills, they could do customer service or some similar office job starting at double the minimum wage.
