For all the times he actually bothered to be the voice of reason and rein in some of circuses in the house, he goes out with some deserved respect

When we're dancing with the angels, the question will be asked, in 2019, what did we do to make sure we kept our democracy intact? Did we stand on the sidelines and do nothing? Did we play games, and I'm tired of these statements where, "Oh, this is the first hearing..." This is not the first hearing. The first hearing was in regard to prescription drugs. Remember? A lady sat there, and her daughter died because she couldn't get $333 a month in insulin. That was our first hearing. Second hearing, HR 1, voting rights. Corruption in government. Come on now. We can do more than one thing and we have got to get back to normal.

"My warmest condolences to the family and many friends of Congressman Elijah Cummings. I got to see first hand the strength, passion and wisdom of this highly respected political leader. His work and voice on so many fronts will be very hard, if not impossible, to replace!"

Why didn't he ever fix Baltimore while living and working in DC for decades? /s

Good guy, RIP, he didn't deserve it.

Trey's description of how Elijah could separate work from personal issues and how he was always pleasant after hours is good insight into why Trey swings so hard when on camera. he's probably a lot nicer outside of the job too.
