is it really that much of a difference?

I've built before and my cable management is awful.

Budget: 1500
More specific use (what games, what programs): CS:GO, PoE,
Planned time until purchase: Between now and cybermonday (if it's worth waiting, but can pull the trigger immediately)
Do you need an Operating System?: Yes (unless there's a way to pull the key off my current rig)
Do you need a sound or wireless card?: Is there a benefit to a sound card? Wireless card just in case, but I prefer to keep my rig hardwired
Do you want stock cooling or do you plan on overclocking?: Stock Cooling
Do you need a monitor? mouse? keyboard?: No, my current monitors are two curved 27" displays and i have a solid keyboard/mouse.

Of course it's a huge difference.
5 to 10yr warranty VS 1 year
All quality parts VS 1-2 quality part and rest trash parts they can't sell on its own
The only downside of building your own is having patience since they take longer to arrive and if you're not as experienced building/cable management it will take longer to have it up and running. However waiting for parts for extra day or two, and spending up to 2-3hrs for your pc to last a decade VS saving some time to use it right away with lifespan of less than 2 yrs is worth it imo.

I personally have a ibuypower pc only due to time constraints with building one and it’s an amazing machine honestly

You get a warranty through ibuypower and they assemble everything fairly competently.

The only downside is some of their components are cheap as you can get so paying extra for step up is mandatory.
Also I hate RGB cases and cases with OEM logos on them so I passed on them when I built my 3rd gen ryzen PC this summer
