If your poor maybe this idea sound good to you. For all the banking hoarder its def not great. Ill stick to 800x900 and shit gfx if its a new start. If its just a expansion to merge im in even if the game cost a hundred
Remaster should 100% be fresh start. Recreate the magic. Too many bottles/duped/hacked items anyway. If you care that much about some outdated pixels then stay on the dying 20 yr old game. OG Diablo 2 will still be here.
A remaster and the original have almost nothing in common other than ideas and core mechanics. Basically 20 years difference in hardware/software capability, new engine etc. To expect your pixels and data from something 20 years ago to be relevant or carried over to a new game is asinine and pretty egotistical honestly. It's literally whole new generations of gamers, the majority will probably never even played the original and that's awesome! They get to experience that magic we all felt getting hooked on the game. The game will appeal to two different generations for totally different reasons. One is nostalgia, the other the chance to play arguably the best ARPG ever made which they've only heard stories about.
Basically anyone that thinks like you needs to wake up and stop living in the past. It's been 20 years and gaming has moved on and changed. Be grateful if a remake even happens at all.
- If you think a 20 yr old game deserves an expansion or would ever get one then you're crazy.
- If you think anything you've done or collected in a 20 yr old game is relevant to a new current gen release(it being a remake is irrelevant) then you're also crazy.
- if you think blizzard(which btw employs basically nobody who made D2) cares about the couple people still playing D2 or their opinion/input regarding the remake then yup, you're crazy.
