Because the name is how we can ID which joker were talking about? Unless you’re going to say there’s one joker.
Anyway it was fun , thanks for all the insults - I have in detail explained my points- if you don’t see where I’m coming from then ok-
You claimed the Joker's name was Jack and that his origin story was "a lot different" than this. You said this wasn't a good origin story because he didn't fall into a vat of chemicals. You negatively judged an aspect of a film because it didn't fit a misconception you have about the character, which is why myself and others tried to correct you. That was the whole reason people took issue with your *points*. The Joker has no official origin story, so disliking something because it doesn't follow one particular version of said story, is about as asinine as it gets. He's an enigma, his story can be changed to fit with a writer's style or vision and that's one of the things that makes the Joker so fucking amazing.
Tim Burton's first Batman film came out the following year of The Killing Joke. The Killing Joke was a massive success and Burton took a piece of that and used it in his telling of the character for the big screen, with some changes here and there. Had you read/understood the Killing Joke as you claim you have, you'd know that the backstory is most likely fake, meaning that any other retellings used by Burton and the animated Batman series, were also following a factitious backstory. His non fixed backstory adds to the character and this is all people have been trying to explain to you. I will admit to and apologize for insulting you, but it was only after a number of civil attempts had been made and you were the one who instigated the hostility by following me around and insulting me in another sub.
I was wrong on the Arthur Fleck thing btw. I could have sworn I remembered his wife calling him Arthur in the 2016 version of the Killing Joke, but was remembering incorrectly. I apologize for that.
Since you'll probably call me a liar, here's where you said all that fun stuff.

I thought it was a great story- great acting. I do think this movie will win awards. However I didn’t love it- being the joker fan that I am- the storyline was just 5/10.
This movie also made me appreciate heath ledger and how he was and probably always will be the #1 joker.
Edit : and this was NOT a great origin movie for the joker. If anyone here actually knows anything about the joker, his name is jack and his origin story is a lot different than what this 2019 movie was about.
