Covington came up HUGE for the Rockets today, he fits in so well on this team. I would go forward with hesitant optimism though, Davis dominated as expected against the small lineup and the Lakers tried WAY too hard to feed him all game long. Rockets also won't shoot 45% from 3 each game, what I am most surprised about is how few free throws the Lakers got. Going into this game I expected 25+ fts between Davis, Howard and McGee, 8 total between them.
Rockets took a huge smallball gamble with the Covington trade. They have no size. I'm guessing the idea behind it is playing Harden and Westbrook with 3 shooting/spacing wings on the floor all at once. When it works, the offense will be cooking. But when it doesn't, we will get abused by size.
Can't help but think the Rockets' title window has already passed. They peaked during the Golden State era. The Westbrook contract is atrocious. He's playing well, but I still don't think Morey wanted to do that trade. I think ownership pressured him.
