I've been messing with some 120mm and 240mm corsair units for the last couple days and I kinda wanna know your thoughts.
Right now im just running a single fan 120mm on a ryzen with the fan pushing air through
I switched it to pull the air through from the outside and noticed the temps are now less stable and the fan actually ramps up louder.
I also tried the 240mm with fans pushing air through and got a lot better results; all the units are much more expensive though.
I haven't tried running a dual fan 120mm system with push/pull yet.
What do you do?

I'd say go for the 240 unit with a nice long warranty like NZXT who run a 6 year one.
Because in 3 years you can look at other cpu options you don't want to be held back by a cooler that
A. Is too damn small to handle any big boy CPUS or any overclocking
B. Only has one fan, so if the fan fails you're gonna have a bad time. But if you have 2 and one fails you will just notice high temps until you get a replacement one.

Custom $800 loop in my main rig cooling two GPU's, CPU and VRM's with 2x 240mm and 1x 120mm rad's all in a push/pull config.
Wife's rig has a 240mm aio, which cost >$40, because I don't mind gambling on the life of her system.

I will be adding a GPU block if I find one on ebay for ~$10 for aesthetic reasons only (r9 280x), wife doesn't care either way.
