Looking to build a new pc for gaming and wanting to choose between the i9 9900 and the i9 9900k processor. Going to pair it with a 2080 super . Is the 9900k substantially better than the other or are they pretty close in terms of performance . Would it better in the long run to pay a little extra for the k? I know the 9900k is solid but I haven’t been able to find much info on the 9900

ryzen is cheaper but intel is better for gaming

9900 will not hold u back, sure the k version is better but pretty much only if u OC

would probably pick the i7-9700k myself if just for gaming

As long as we're talking about 60Hz/75Hz monitors or as long as TO runs into GPU limits (like literally 99% of users do), there won't be a difference between 9900k and 3700X or even 3600.

People simply don't understand this.

I dont think hes running a 60hz monitor with that setup :DD but more fps is still better even if ur monitor cant display it..

depends on the game what kinda limits u run into

Non k version will stay closer to its tdp which will affect boosts and make it run like 8700k

Whenever fps are properly synched and your min FPS do not drop below your refresh rate, this is simply not true.
There is no reason to have your GPU render 350 FPS and have your CPU prepare 420 FPS when your monitor has a hard limit of 60.

It's not 1990 anymore when input lag would auto-kill your gaming at lower FPS...
