Cali's not so bad. I lived in Sacramento for awhile and it's wonderful. There's a lot of good jobs and the climate is wonderful, but housing is outrageously expensive. Might move back there in a few years.

I'm from rural Georgia, currently live in California for the last decade.

Th south is a far worse place. By far. There is no comparison. There are literal third world areas in Alabama and Mississippi as well.

I mean, that's upper class Georgia.

You take a place like Rochelle, GA and there is nothing in California that compares.

California seems to be the n°1 US state, most populated x well ranked by income x Silicon Valley x Hollywood == US would definitely no longer be US without this state.
