There are tons of problems concerning this topic, but haven't found myself a working solution.

Using:
linux mint 19.2
wine 4.0
official installation files from blizzard

So i installed the game and patched through the game to 1.14d - no problems, all did successfully.

Single player is working perfectly, but when i actually try to log into bnet, the game crashes after 2-3 seconds.
From time to time I manage to log in but I actually can't display my characters, as it says connecting..

Is that even possible to make it work with using only wine?
Any tips, links with working solutions or experiences from installing d2 on linux ?

Windows 8.1+ only. Unsupported on Linux.

That's what i am asking about, how to force it being "supported" on Linux.

Ofc If that's not against the jsp policies, but i do believe that nobody dies from asking a question.

It's only possible with Wine, which is a third party tool.
