launched borderlands to see that my character is rolled back 10 levels and apparently i think it might be using the cloud save? how do i switch it back

you don't. old save's gone forever (and no... you might be thinking of using something to get it back.... that won't help you.)

yeah need to be careful which button i click on next time i clicked cloud instead of local

While I don't specifically know how to address your issue nothing gets "deleted" from a hard drive till new data overwrites it.
So in theory you could easily recover a save file if there was indeed one to begin with stored local on your machine.

its not a troll, if you use cloud save it overwrites the save you had so hes not trolling

How does data being written to a cloud server remove data from your local machine?
They are two different machines. More over he most def is a fucking troll.

because i selected the cloud option so it overwritten my normal save data lol

Can't fix stupid but you can address ignorance.... So lets try that once again....

Your personal pc has data put on it > you "delete" said data > the system then removes the reference to the data not the actual data.
This is why data recovery software can recover data after a deletion. The data is only truly removed when NEW data is rewritten to the drive in the specific section that contained the file.

Its not that you know of it but more or less HOW MUCH you know of it and clearly that isn't much.
