at launch it was actually such a hard game that HC was exhilarating tbh

it became a failure the day the Auction House left

Wouldn't say "failure", it certainly changed the tune on what people loved about D1 and D2, but to appeal to a wider audience, I can get it.
It's just a shame they dumbed it down a bit too much..

they killed it when its based about self found gear, if they would have left the auction house and made items where they wasnt set to the party you was in then i wouldnt be half bad.
I used to stream and give legendaries away to people watching, now its just whos in your party can have them

As a successor to Diablo 2? Undeniably.

As its own iteration to focus on minimalistic gameplay that caters to a wider age range of players, capable of console play, with no connection to Diablo 2, then I would say it was fairly satisfactory.

Every game should include the best of the prior iteration and incorporate the new. With D3 that did not happen...I deem it a failure, seeing as how it was neither past-proof OR future proof.

Terrible failure. First of all game mechanics, items and gearing stats and gameplay was incredibly dumbed down.

Then they removed the two things that prolongs endgame. PVP and trading.

After that there was no reason to be farming gear. Just go out and do braindead farming to end up on a leaderboard that only a couple of nolifers cared about.

In short. The game is SHIT
