So I just moved today and when I hooked up my ethernet it kicks me off after like 30 mins or so of playing games. It starts working again if I plug the ethernet cord into a different port on the modem immediately, the green connection light just stops basically. Using a different cords and modem from yesterday, the other person living here doesn't suffer from any sort of connection issues on their pc as well. Trying their port right now, but the other two have so far had this problem and one of them doesn't seem to work at all.

Still having problems, works for a bit, then says no connection...will come back eventually but stays off for up too an hour+ or as little as a few moments at times. Was thinking maybe it was the cord (exterior 100') but it works for up to a couple of hours to only a matter of minutes. Seems like a weird problem, Ill change out the cord in a couple of days but idk what good that will do since it works immediate once it stops when I plug the cord into a different port on the modem, thinking more like a bios or something problem since I've been on different networks recently or the modem itself maybe, or I have to take the ip address off auto to manual or something. I'm no good at in-depth networking stuffs.

Also the exterior 100' ethernet cord was in the port on the modem that doesn't seem to work anymore, thinking maybe a surge//lightning strike of some sort possibly, but the cord still works (at least for an hour or 2 at times) is my issue with that theory. Also the other person with ethernet plugged in is having no visible issues like me, they're on an old windows 7 ops but i don't see what that would have to do with anything.

Just uninstalled networks (idk if I missed any hidden) and rebooted, apparently if it's a problem with Windows this should fix it. Also got a new cord on order, cat 6, just cause it's a 6-7 year old exterior ethernet atm. Hopefully this fixes the issue.

yea it's a tough one, still happening but takes a number of hours now, i'll probably try to find hidden networks and uninstall them and see what happens with the new cord. Then manually do the bios ip etc or w/e to a full system reboot then new modem//components if all else fails.

Is this your own modem/router combo?

If not fella guy might have some weird stuff set up to prioritize service to certain mac addresses. (His)

It's always a good step to update the firmware and if all else fails factory reset the router/modem and finally reformat windows.
