hmmm

so I heard the electricity powering Electric Vehicles come from power plants that have much worse emissions at the end of the day than a combustion or diesel engine...

if as in ice you mean the new hydrogen engines like the Toyota Mirai, I am not too sure about it really...
What I do know is that it is an alternative energy source that is abundant, supposedly greener, and the government will give you $20,000 cash if you purchase a $60,000 Toyota Mirai.

I trust Toyota more than Tesla, so I say the hydrogen engine.

So electric vehicles can only run on electricity from specific power plants?

"Hybrid cars, battery-powered cars and electric trains still rely on fossil fuels for manufacturing, batteries and recharging. By some estimates, charging an electric vehicle at night in certain coal-dependent areas can generate more emissions than a gasoline-powered car."
