I remember seeing The Phantom Menace like 7 times in theaters when I was a kid lol.

The Star Wars sequel trilogy is easily better than The Hobbit trilogy in my opinion. Jackson fucked up by going hard into cgi instead of using practical effects like in the LotR trilogy. I loved the book and was very disappointed with the movies. Especially since Jackson's LotR trilogy is the greatest trilogy of all time and I had such high hopes for the Hobbit.

I mean first of all the Hobbit should not have been a trilogy.

Each of the LotR books has more pages than The Hobbit.

I guessed going in that this guy is an idiot, and nothing I've watched has disproven that. He is a pretty fucking annoying dude.

1) not a plot hole. I disliked this element of the movie, but canon has established that you can cheat death in star wars, multiple different ways.

2) Again, not a plot hole. The entire point of Lukes arc in the previous movie was him regaining his hope. That is why Rey gets trained. That movie literally slaps you in the face with Lukes arc, how could you miss it?

3) Is Palpatines son not force sensitive? I don't remember if the movie actually said that. I remember the movie saying they "chose to be no one". That could mean he was force sensitive and decided to let go of it. Or he could have cut himself off from the force and lost his force sensitivity(previously established in canon), or it could have "skipped a generation". There is literally nothing in the lore that says force sensitivity guarantees passed down. So again, not a plot hole.

4) I have said before this part of the movie was dumb, but literally all you have to say is "new technology" and now it works. Bad writing for a"cool" scene, but not a plot hole.

This guy literally has no idea what fucking plot holes are, he is extremely annoying, so I'm not going to bother with more of the video.

Edit: bunch of auto correct nonsense.

Lemme tell you my beef. If she kills him, she becomes bad... so she refuses... then kills him anyway - with his own power, but she still kills him. It was stupid. Overall I thought it was epic compared to ..shudders..last Jedi. Star Wars is not a slapstick comedy.

I assume he didnt bother since the vast majority of them are equally as stupid.

Like half the shit he says is him assuming no advances in technology have happened over three decades. Had to turn it off pretty quickly though, guy is fucking annoying.

I literally cannot put up with how stupid he is. Type out what his list is and I'll tell you how they aren't plot holes.

Modern "critics" are fucking idiots, most of them are just people who started posting their opinion and got popular. They think they know something about movies when they actually don't, and they don't bother to learn.

Not liking a plot element, or getting confused by it, doesn't make it a fucking plot hole.

A plot hole is when something happens that directly clashes with previously established rules that the story set up.

Like I said for #4 "new technology" fixes it because not being able to jump near massive objects wasn't set up in this movie, it was set up in a previous movie to make those movies more tense. If it had been set up in this movie, and then 5 minutes later the scene happened, then it would be a plot hole. But it wasn't and it isn't.

You're correct, but I think we might be in the midst of a movement where the way the phrase "plot hole" is used colloquially is being expanded beyond the original definition of the word.

Thanks to the rise of social media, casual fans are joining the conversation of movie critiques and parroting the language that has been established by the professionals.
