Is there a way to basically save the state that my computer is in today. So then if I do something stupid tomorrow, I can restore it back to today? Like if I were to download questionable programs, what I be able to resort back to my back up?

Yes this is possible.
U can do it by creating a system restore point.

1. Open Start.
2. Search for Create a restore point, and click the top result to open the System Properties experience.
3. Click the Create button.

Well depends how you wanna do it, there is some software that can do it easily but cheap/most effective way is just clone zilla to another drive.
There is two approaches, easy software to clone the drive on a partition though in this case hardware failure means you lose your copy.
Then clone zilla approach which is imo the more secure way as a second device holds the data safely stored away.

The issue with a restore point is two fold, 1 its fucking shit and prone to fail and the other is when drive is damage so is your back up usually.

Refer to this or google for hd back up software.

AOMEI Backupper (free)

https://www.backup-utility.com/free-backup-software.html?ref=en.nav.for-home

Use this program to make a system backup (sector by sector) (non-incremental, non-differential) and save the backup to a separate partition, or better yet a separate hard drive.
Also, make the Linux bootable media (USB stick or CD Rom) so if Windows won't boot, you can still get to your backups.

That's pretty much it... PM me with any questions.

/e Almost forgot... for your partitioning needs... you want EaseUS Partition Manager (free)
