Just like Youtube, if you apply the appropriate filtering method it can be pretty informative.

(CNN)President Donald Trump on Saturday night abruptly reversed course and announced next year's G7 economic summit of world powers would not be held at Trump National in Doral, Florida, in a rare departure after facing bipartisan backlash.

The President tweeted the major change just over 48 hours after the initial announcement: "We will no longer consider Trump National Doral, Miami, as the Host Site for the G-7 in 2020. We will begin the search for another site, including the possibility of Camp David, immediately."

The President called the rising criticism his administration was facing "Irrational Hostility," and wrote, "I thought I was doing something very good for our Country by using Trump National Doral, in Miami, for hosting the G-7 Leaders."

The fundamental asymmetry that is destroying the GOP boils down to this: Trump expects Republicans to show unity and loyalty in defending him, but he makes no effort to behave defensibly for his party's sake. There's no reciprocity.

yep

Seems Trump just can't win with you. He offers one of his hotels for G7 and you blast him. He says OK, forget I offered and you blast him.

Are we feeling a bit irrational... yet?

Why would they fight harder against somebody they are ideologically aligned with?

You seem to be getting dumber by the day.

He wasn't offering to do it for free bro. He was awarding his own hotel a contract, which is the most blatant violating of the emoluments clause imaginable.

Somebody doesn't get a pass for doing wrong because they change course after everybody tells them they were doing wrong. He should have had the foresight to know what he was doing was one of the most blatant acts of corruption in modern American history.

I just woke up, my brain replaced Republicans with Democrats.

I need caffeine.

However, saying they fought less hard against Obama than they do against Trump is still pretty stupiid.

well, he was offering to do it at cost, as in no profit. Not the same thing as offering it for 'free' in the absolute sense, but kind of in the sense you thought he wasn't doing.
because offering up the services of your hotel at cost is not a very blatant violation of the emoluments clause
you could argue it would attract business and outside expenditures beyond the venue rent and services, but I think you're under a mistaken impression here

Nah, I knew he was doing it "at cost", but it still represented a substantial gain for his business for similar reasons as you listed.

I also generally don't trust any business to actually do something "at cost", but to do as many tricks as possible with the accounting to make it appear that they did it at cost.
