Gay opinion.

There is still no conclusive statistical evidence to prove the costs outweigh the benefit.

How do you measure standards?

coming from a guy who uses completely unproven claims from random qanon nuts on facebook as their 'source', to perpetuate ridiculous conspiracy theories, that's pretty rich.

By number of retractions, mistakes, etc. CNN for instance makes 28.4 retractions/mistakes per month (nearly 1 per day!). Washington Examiner is at 84.3. The Wall Street Journal, NY Times, etc. are below 2 per month.

This is why I don't "watch" news because it's basically entertainment riddled with mistakes pretending to be fact.

What if the news is bad and they don't retract it? Or the classic change the headline wording and edit the article after people realize its bs?

The new york times lied today with "targets" for coronavirus cases with huge pretty graphics. The cases were flat numbers and not per capita. Total lies.

With poll numbers dropping and in the midst of a pandemic that has killed 138,000 Americans... the Trump administration puts out a meme attacking one of their top health experts....?

So after this ridiculousness, Trump's nutty trade adviser decides to attack Fauci with an op-ed:

There's just no way I could've fathomed how dark and incompetent this administration would be. The fact that Trump got elected, and still has a decent chance of getting re-elected after the last 4 years, tells us that American democracy is fundamentally broken.

I struggle to believe that this isn't satire.

That's cause you've bought into the constant right-wing propaganda against legitimate journalism.

I'm still waiting on who has better standards than the 3 I listed.

I measure it by the quality of reporting, including significant scoops. Anyone who followed the news closely on Russiagate and then read the Mueller report already knew much of the information, because NYT/WaPo and others already reported on it.

He'll go with something like Reuters, because they rarely get scoops, thus not drawing the ire of the propagandists he listens to.

Politico has a similar quality on the range of issues they're reporting (which is more narrow than the others), and more objectivity/less partisan bias.

The Peter Navarro op-ed didn’t go through normal White House clearance processes and is the opinion of Peter alone. @realDonaldTrump values the expertise of the medical professionals advising his Administration.

A well-oiled machine.

Politico is solid. I don't perceive much of a difference in partisan bias, but then again I don't read journalism with the same critical lens that right-wingers do.

i'd correct that to the NYT/WaPo broke almost all of the info in the Mueller report before it was released, and also a shitload more of scoops that turned out to be false, that they had already redacted before the Mueller report was released, because it took for fucking ever lol.

if the report came out a bit quicker i think they would have had a lot more unredacted misses.
